I read a lot of shoujo as a child, and even growing into my later years, at some point it stopped peaking my interest but before then i was seriously hooked.

Kaichou wa maid sama, I read this many many years ago in middle school I think, so around 12 years ago, and i was seriously hooked. I wanted to be just like the main character and when I found out that the main character was a student council president, i thought that in order to get a cute boyfriend I had to be really smart or strong, almost a tsundere type, and even a student council president. I lived by this book for a little while until i got bored of course and moved to the next shoujo that also had similar tropes. in a way I was reading the same story over and over. So in conclusion, shoujo really took over a few years of my life based on a schema of ideals that i was religiously involved in.
